Alright, listen up folks, this is important. The third and final event of the Nashville World Kayak Plateau Creek Race Series is still this Saturday and we have had a change of venue. It will NOT be on Daddy's Creek as previously planned. It WILL be held THIS Saturday, the 30th, at Big South Fork.

We apologize for the last-minute change in venues but we got scared about the rain, makeup days conflict with other events like the TSRA Rendezvous, etc. And of course now it looks like Daddy's might be getting some rain... Well anyway, the Big South Fork (BSF) looks like an excellent place to have the race so let me explain some details. Thanks so much to Kirk Eddlemon for help with the logisitics.

The race will be a BoaterX style race on the Canyon run, which is a 2 miles stretch with Class II-III rapids from the Pine Creek put-in to the O&W Railroad Bridge. There will be heats of 5 paddlers with an easy shuttle allowing for a showdown between the winners of the heats. We will meet at the Take-Out at 10-11 local time. Meet there for more details and then will shuttle to Put-In. Please go register prior to the event at World Kayak.

Now remember, Jackson Kayak has graciously agreed to donate us a SUPerCHARGER to give away to the winner of the series so race hard for your chance to win. It is an awesome river-running SUP and I plan on buying one for myself in the next couple of months. Thanks JK Team for all your support!!! Check out our coverage of the Jackson Kayak SUPerCHARGER here. As of right now, Jason Crummer in first place followed by Ben Ghertner and Ian Stewart. Full current points list is at the bottom of the post.

Directions to take-out: The O&W Railroad Bridge can be accessed from Verdun Road. About halfway between SR 297 and US Hwy 27 on Verdun Road is the Edgewood Estates entrance. This is where O&W Road begins in a sharp curve. The bridge is approximately 8.6 miles.

Directions to put-in: Two miles upstream from the O&W Railroad Bridge is the Pine Creek put-in. You'll know the put-in by the gated road that drops off beside O&W Road. This put-in is just above Maria's Rock which is the start of the Canyon Section.
